Otis Orchards is where the Valley gives way to larger parcels, and that changes the shape of a lighting job. The house is usually set back from the road, there is often a shop or a barn, and the distance between structures is enough that a display concentrated on the front door alone barely registers from the street.

On these properties the best results usually come from treating the approach as part of the design — the garage or shop frontage, the line of the driveway, and the house roofline working together rather than the house on its own. It reads as a whole from the road instead of as a bright patch a long way back.

The constraint is access. Large trees and long gravel drives affect where a lift can be positioned and how much of the roofline is reachable, which is better established when we quote than discovered on install day. We walk the property properly before giving a figure.

The usual arrangement is on at dusk and off late evening, with the whole property switching together so you are not left with a lit house and a dark shop. If you want different behaviour over the holidays themselves, say so and we will set it.

Roofline lighting does the work from the road, but the details people actually walk past are the entry, the porch posts and the garage surrounds. Garland along a railing or a lit wreath on a barn door changes how a property feels at close range in a way a roofline cannot.

On acreage these are worth putting where visitors actually arrive rather than on the formal front door nobody uses. We will ask which entrance people really come to.
